Booking & Rides
What vehicle types does KabaKaba offer?
KabaKaba offers okada (motorcycle), aboboyaa (tricycle), shared taxi, and courier/goods delivery — all bookable from the same app.
How do I enter my location if I don't have a street address?
You can search by landmark — a market, school, chief's palace, filling station, or any known place. You can also drop a pin directly on the map.
Are fares fixed or do they change with demand?
Fares are fixed and shown upfront before you confirm your booking. What you see is what you pay — no surge pricing, no hidden charges.
Can I schedule a ride in advance?
Advance booking is coming soon. For now, rides are booked in real time.
Payments
What payment methods does KabaKaba accept?
Cash, MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, and AT Money (AirtelTigo). Pay whichever way is easiest for you.
Can I pay with a card?
Card payments are not available at launch. We focus on Mobile Money and cash because that's what works best for most people in Ghana.
What if my Mobile Money payment fails?
If your MoMo payment doesn't go through, you can pay cash to your driver. Our system is designed to handle this gracefully — your driver will mark the trip as cash-paid.
Safety
How do I know my driver is verified?
Every driver on KabaKaba holds a DVLA commercial licence and has passed our document verification. You'll see their photo, name, vehicle, and plate before the trip starts.
What do I do in an emergency?
Use the SOS button in the app — it alerts our response team immediately. There's also a direct phone-call shortcut that works even when your data is weak.
Can I share my trip with someone?
Trip sharing is on our roadmap. For now, you can share your driver's details manually from the trip screen.
Driver Partners
How do I become a KabaKaba driver?
Download the KabaKaba Driver app and apply, or visit one of our agent desks at major motor parks and lorry stations. You'll need your DVLA commercial licence, vehicle registration, and insurance documents.
What is the minimum age to drive for KabaKaba?
In line with Ghana's Road Traffic (Amendment) regulations, the minimum age for commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators is 25.
How and when do I get paid?
Earnings are paid to your registered Mobile Money wallet. You can see a full breakdown of every trip's commission in your earnings dashboard.
Do I have to pay a commission on every trip?
Yes, KabaKaba takes a platform commission per completed trip. The exact amount is shown transparently in your driver app for every trip. Driver subscription plans (flat weekly fee) are coming in a future update.
App & Technical
Does KabaKaba work with a weak internet connection?
Yes. The app is built for Ghana's real network conditions — it caches maps, degrades gracefully on 2G/3G, and sends SMS trip status updates when push notifications can't get through.
Which phones does the app work on?
The KabaKaba app works on Android smartphones. iOS support is coming soon.
